A Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training seminar was successfully held on Thursday, February 27, 2026, at the Kalymnos Taxi Station, organized by the General Hospital of Kalymnos.
The seminar was conducted by nurses Niki Georgakopoulou and Konstantinos Zagorianos, who provided both theoretical and hands-on training to professional taxi drivers on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the proper use of a defibrillator in cases of cardiac arrest.
During the session, participants had the opportunity to practice on training mannequins, gaining essential lifesaving skills that may prove crucial in emergency situations.
This initiative forms part of the Hospital’s broader effort to strengthen prevention and community preparedness in dealing with medical emergencies, highlighting the importance of immediate response during the first critical minutes of a cardiac arrest.
