MANOS KONSOLAS: “A response to the unfounded claims made by the Turkish FM about a ‘Turkish minority’ in the Dodecanese”
The Member of Parliament for the Dodecanese, Mr. Manos Konsolas, issued a clear and firm response to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s recent statements regarding the alleged “violation of the rights of the Turkish minority in the Dodecanese”.
“There is no Turkish minority in the Dodecanese.
There are Greek citizens of Muslim faith, with whom we have coexisted peacefully for years. What unites us is mutual respect and harmony,” said Mr. Konsolas.
He further underlined that Greece is a democracy and a state governed by the rule of law, where freedoms and human rights are guaranteed for all — unlike the situation in Turkey.
“Mr. Fidan’s statements are both provocative and historically inaccurate.
They expose Turkey’s revisionist and expansionist agenda and demonstrate why Turkey cannot be part of the European defense mechanism,” he concluded.
