Manos Konsolas, MP for the Dodecanese with New Democracy, has called for the renewal and expansion of the “Kinoumai Ilektrika” (I Move Electric) program to boost the adoption of electric vehicles.
He criticized the limited success of previous phases and proposed increasing subsidies for electric vehicle purchases, reinstating a 40% subsidy for electric taxis across more regions, offering state-backed guarantees for low-income buyers, speeding up subsidy disbursement, setting realistic timelines for converting taxi fleets, and installing chargers at taxi ranks.
His initiative aims to support energy transition, lower transport costs, and protect the environment.
