With great solemnity and the presence of a large number of faithful, Matins and a concelebrated Divine Liturgy were held on Sunday morning at the Holy Church of Saint Savvas in Kalymnos.
The service began at 07:30, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Rhodes, who also delivered the sermon. Around 11:00, the procession of the miraculous icon of the Saint took place, followed by a supplication in front of the Holy and Sacred Relic of Saint Savvas, praying for the health and divine assistance of all Kalymnians and other Dodecanesians living on land and at sea.
Among those present were the Mayor of Kalymnos, Ioannis Mastrokoukos, the Regional Governor Manolis Mousellis, the Dodecanese MP of New Democracy Ioannis Pappas, the Director of Kalymnos Hospital Pantelis Kongas, and political candidate Ioannis Gavalas of the Hellenic Solution party.
The strong turnout of both officials and faithful once again highlighted the deep religious tradition of the island and the significant role of Saint Savvas in the local community.
