The Kalymnos District Office has announced that the South Aegean Region is implementing a series of modern lifelong learning programs in collaboration with the Lifelong Learning Center (K.E.DI.VI.M.) of the University of the Aegean.
The programs aim to strengthen knowledge, specialization, and professional prospects for island residents, offering the opportunity for remote participation without geographical limitations.
The training programs include topics such as:
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools
- Applied Statistics
- Intelligence Services and Modern Security Challenges
- Special Education and Educational Interventions

Most programs are conducted online, providing flexibility for employees, professionals, unemployed individuals, and young scientists. In addition, in-person seminars can be organized if requested by associations, organizations, or citizen groups.
In several cases, participants will receive training certificates as well as ECTS credit units.
The Kalymnos District Office emphasizes that continuous education is a key pillar for the development of the islands of the South Aegean Region. In a time of rapid technological and professional changes, knowledge remains one of the strongest tools to strengthen local economies and create new opportunities for young people to remain and work in their homeland.
The Kalymnos District Office actively supports initiatives that provide meaningful education and training opportunities for residents of Kalymnos, Leros, Patmos, Astypalaia, Agathonisi, and Lipsi.
