An open invitation has been extended to organizations and citizens by the Aegean Team, in collaboration with the South Aegean Region and with the support of Europe Direct South Aegean, to participate in an online informational session on funding opportunities for small islands.
The event is organized במסגרת the 32nd “Diaplous” initiative and will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 14:00 to 15:00, via Zoom.
Available funding sources cover a wide range of actions, including infrastructure projects, entrepreneurship, environmental protection, innovation, and social initiatives. Particular emphasis is placed on the EU Structural Funds (ESPA 2021–2027), along with national and European tools supporting island development.
Key programs presented include the South Aegean Regional Programme, the Just Development Transition Programme, the Environment and Climate Change Programme, and initiatives focusing on competitiveness, digital transformation, and green growth.
In addition, funding tools such as Leader/CLLD for rural development, Interreg cross-border cooperation programs, and the national Investment Law are highlighted, offering support for investment projects and local development.
The aim of the session is to inform participants about available funding tools and programs that support the development and strengthening of small island communities. It is addressed to organizations, institutions, and individual citizens interested in taking advantage of such opportunities.
Participation is free of charge, and the initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote awareness and empower island regions through European and regional funding programs.
