The people of Kalymnos attended the day’s celebrations en masse, paying tribute with their presence and honoring the national anniversary. The Parade was held to the accompaniment of the Philharmonic Band of the Municipality of Kalymnos and featured the participation of the Lyceum of Greek Women, the local branch of the Hellenic Red Cross, members of the Hellenic Scouts and the Greek Guiding Association, students from the Center for Creative Engagement and Vocational Training, local cultural and athletic associations, students from all Primary and Secondary Schools, as well as cadets of the Merchant Marine Academy. The parade also included a ceremonial unit from the 5/42 Regiment of Evzones “Delvinaki.”
