Τhe municipal party “Kalymnos Allazei” sent its proposals to the head of municipal transportation and the Kalymnos Municipal Council (dated 09/05/2025), concerning the need to improve transportation for workers in the island’s tourist areas.
Due to the increase in tourist accommodations, transportation issues affect both workers and business owners in remote areas (Melitsacha, Masouri, Kantouni, Armeos). Their work shifts begin early morning and end late at night, without corresponding municipal bus schedules. As a result, workers face financial strain, miss job opportunities, and contribute to parking congestion.
The party’s proposals:
- Creation of a morning route at 06:00 from Pothia to the tourist areas.
- Creation of a night route departing at 23:00 from Pothia and returning at 00:30 from Masouri.
- Special transportation card for workers to reduce commuting costs.
The aim is to facilitate workers’ transportation and support employment in the tourism sector.
