I would like to begin by expressing how thankful I am to “Kalymnos Times” for allowing me to introduce myself and my business providing disability services from the age of 3-65. My name is Angeliki I am Greek from Kalymnos and raised in Darwin Australia.
I am an individual who is passionate about improving the lives of others through access to various supports including children’s services, employment, education, and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services. I have extensive experience in the mental health, youth, and disability sectors, having worked in various capacities for over ten years.
I have worked in the Education department for twelve years and I have always chosen to work closely with children with special abilities I can not express how blessed and lucky I am to have been able to enter their beautiful unique world!
Allow me to say that, there are very few who can enter the magical world of people with disabilities.
In their world, everything works differently, it has nothing to do with our world because they see, feel, and feel with their heart and soul. They are capable of doing things that in our world seem impossible!
Every child, individual regardless of physical or mental ability, can grow up healthy, protected, educated, and empowered to be included in all aspects of our society.
After all these years of experience, I have come to the decision to establish my own business based on disability services called Safe Hands NT. The organization’s name means clients and their carers can rely on us and our words, and feel respected, included, and cared about. We treat people with kindness and compassion, we want our clients to feel a sense of belonging and connection, and we understand that everyone comes from distinct backgrounds and perspectives.
Safe Hands NT is about believing in putting our participants at the center of everything we do. THEIR goals, THEIR dreams—they’re what drive us forward each day. Together, we’re not just navigating the challenges; we’re embracing every moment, every triumph, and every step forward as we journey together toward a brighter future.
Whether it’s supporting our participants in achieving their personal milestones, realizing their aspirations, or simply being there to celebrate life’s victories, our team is dedicated to walking alongside them every step of the way. Here it’s not just about providing services—it’s about fostering genuine connections, empowering individuals, and creating a community where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to live their best lives.

What Safe Hands NT Provides:
We offer a wide range of Disability care services, including community nursing care, daily tasks and shared living, development of life skills, household tasks, community participation, accommodation tenancy, assisted travel transport, group center activities, and minor emergencies. My piece of advice to all our Special Ability Individuals out there
-love yourself, and all the bumps that come with it, you will find total peace in what cards you have been given, and you will start to come out the other side of your acceptance journey.
-be bold, be strong, be selfless, be courageous. Every single human on the face of the planet is unique in their own way.
-We were not born to be the same, we were born to contribute and leave our mark on the world.
-Lastly, embrace the journey. You aren’t alone, you will never be alone. Remember; you are you and that is more than enough! You are perfect just as you are! Let’s all strive for a greater service to humanity.
Once again, thank you for allowing me to introduce my organization. Looking forward to expanding my organization soon in our so beloved Kalymnos sometime shortly always with the support and help of my beloved husband Vasileios Michas who has been by my side since day one.
Yours Sincerely,
Angeliki Michas
