The Cultural Association “I Proodos” organizes a music education seminar entitled “Traditional Music in Concert Halls” on Monday, August 25, at 20:30, at the Center of Culture and History (Ground floor of the Cultural Center).
The seminar will be curated by musician and composer Antonis Papaggelis and is open to everyone, without requiring prior musical knowledge. Through a variety of musical examples, it will explore the relationship between language, traditional music, and the classical music of different peoples, with a special focus on Greece.
The aim of this event is to serve as the beginning of a series of similar meetings, not intended to teach reading, writing, or playing music, but rather to open up a new field of knowledge and aesthetic enjoyment. Participants will be guided to better understand what unfolds before them when listening to a musical work—whether a folk song or a symphony by a classical composer—and to gain the added joy of perceiving what truly lies behind the sounds.
We look forward to welcoming you!
