A shocking video showing a Greek vessel in the Persian Gulf during a nighttime attack has been circulating widely online over the past few hours.
In the footage, first published by e-nautilia.gr, missiles and drones can be seen striking facilities in the wider Persian Gulf area, extremely close to a Greek-flagged vessel anchored offshore.
So far, it has not been confirmed whether the video is linked to the attacks reported in recent days or to an earlier incident in the region.
Greek seafarers recording the video can be heard clearly distressed. Fighting back tears, they are heard saying: “Look at what we’re going through,” “Let’s get out of here,” and “People were killed here!”, capturing the fear and tension experienced during the attack.
According to reports, more than 150 Greek-owned vessels, carrying dozens of Greek and foreign seafarers, remain trapped in the Persian Gulf. It remains unclear when they will be able to depart, as the Strait of Hormuz is reportedly closed, raising serious concerns about crew safety and maritime traffic in the region.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, while official statements are expected.
