A political storm has erupted following a ceremony marking the handover of monuments in Rhodes’ Medieval City, with SYRIZA’s Dodecanese regional committees accusing Culture Minister Lina Mendoni of authoritarian and anti-democratic conduct. According to the party’s statement, preventing Rhodes Mayor Alexandros Koliadis from addressing the event was an affront to local government institutions and the local community, raising concerns over democratic accountability and freedom of expression.
