As a follow-up to Dimitris Kardoulias’ clarifying statements regarding ANEK President Dimitris Marangos and his ongoing legal ordeal, a press conference was held today at the private office of Ioannis Diamantis. Georgios Thanatsis and Ioannis Diamantis, both former Presidents of ANEK, provided their own explanations to journalists Eleftheria Tiliakou and Eirini Chalkiti concerning Mr. Marangos’ legal difficulties.
They answered questions from reporters on issues raised earlier by Mr. Kardoulias, and a letter dated 26/11/2025 addressed to Mr. Marangos was read aloud, outlining the reasoning behind the report they submitted to the public prosecutor. Mr. Diamantis focused particularly on the fact that Mr. Kardoulias noted he received remuneration as ANEK President, reminding him that Mr. Kardoulias is also compensated by the company.
Both men concluded by stating that, if it were legally possible, they would withdraw the report — but the law does not permit it.
