An anniversary event on October 24 brings together Evangelos Apostolakis, Konstantinos Filis and Kostas Ifantis, with journalist Athanasios Ellis moderating.
The legacy of the Imia crisis and the challenges shaping Greek–Turkish relations will take centre stage at an anniversary event organised by the Kalymnos Regional Unit Office on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Entitled “Imia 1996–2026: Thirty Years On,” the event will take place at 7:15 p.m. at the Kalymnos Cultural Centre, according to the organisers’ press release.
Marking three decades since the January 1996 crisis, the discussion will connect its historical legacy with the strategic positions of Greece and Turkey today, security in the Eastern Mediterranean, and choices in foreign and defence policy.
