
Traffic Restrictions Announced on Kalymnos Waterfront for Pontic Greek Genocide Remembrance Events
Temporary traffic measures and restrictions will be implemented along the Kalymnos Port Coastal Zone on Sunday, May 24, 2026, during the commemorative events for the Pontic Greek Genocide Remembrance Day.
According to a decision issued by the Kalymnos Port Authority, the measures aim to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the ceremonies and wreath-laying event.
More specifically:
- From 08:00 a.m. until the end of the wreath-laying ceremony, stopping and parking of vehicles will be prohibited from the Port Authority building up to the Heroes Monument.
- From 10:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the ceremony, all vehicle traffic will be prohibited in the designated area.
The Port Authority stressed that violators of the decision, regardless of any criminal or other liabilities under current legislation, will be subject to the sanctions provided by Article 157 of Legislative Decree 187/1973, as amended and in force.
The decision was signed by the Port Commander of Kalymnos, Commander H.C.G. Stefanos D. Patouras.
