Urgent Public Meeting of the Kalymnos Municipal Council – August 29, 2025
An urgent mixed (in-person and online) public meeting of the Municipal Council of Kalymnos will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 18:30 in the Municipal Hall to decide on the following agenda items:
Agenda:
- Approval of the 6th Budget and Technical Program Revision of the Municipality of Kalymnos for the fiscal year 2025.
- Approval of the Procurement & Services Reception Committee’s report and opinion on the extension of the contract for the supply of “Liquid Motor Fuels.”
Reason for Urgency:
The meeting has been deemed urgent due to the following:
- Item 1: An immediate budget revision is necessary to allocate funds for the upcoming official visit of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Konstantinos Tasoulas, who will attend the blessing ceremony at the Telendos Primary School.
The extremely tight time frame ahead of the President’s arrival does not allow adherence to regular procedural timelines. Ensuring smooth preparation and execution of the visit is of utmost importance — both to properly represent the institution of the Presidency and to enhance the profile and prestige of the local community.
- Item 2: The current contract for the supply of liquid motor fuels expires on September 11, 2025.
Fuel is essential for the uninterrupted operation of municipal services and vehicles. Therefore, the Council must act promptly to:
- Approve the Procurement Committee’s report in time,
- Issue an opinion on the contract extension,
- Prevent any risk of fuel shortages or service disruptions affecting citizens.
