On the occasion of World Children’s Rights Day, the Head of the Secretariat for Children’s Rights of New Democracy, Mrs. Maria Karagianni, accompanied by the Secretariat’s Coordinator for the South Aegean, Mrs. Katerina Emmanouil, held a meeting with the General Director of KESO, Mrs. Pinni, as well as members of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Samara, Mrs. Peppa, and Mrs. Karlavti.
During the meeting, KESO representatives presented their vision for a world free of discrimination, with a central focus on protecting and strengthening the institution of the family. Particular emphasis was placed on the rejection of domestic violence and on supporting its victims. KESO remains firmly by the side of children who experience neglect or abuse, regardless of nationality or religion.
Founded in 1999 by the late Archbishop Christodoulos, KESO continues to provide multidimensional support to families and children in genuine need. Its work spans the entire country and includes orientation classes, free preventive medical examinations, assistance in job placement, housing support, and the operation of a Social Grocery, which supports more than 200 families in Athens.
The Secretariat for Children’s Rights of New Democracy expressed its sincere thanks to the KESO administration for the meaningful dialogue and the proposals for further improvement, while scheduling a follow-up meeting for early December. The goal is to strengthen cooperation in support of KESO’s work, particularly its Social Grocery, so that no family is deprived of the joy of the Christmas season.
