Migrant arrivals were recorded in the Dodecanese even on the last day of 2025. Just hours before the new year began, the Leros Port Authority was alerted to the presence of a large group of individuals on Farmakonisi.
Ground searches were immediately launched by members of the Hellenic Coast Guard’s Special Missions Unit, who located a total of 34 migrants (22 men and 12 women). They were transferred by patrol vessel to the port of Lakki on Leros, and then taken to the island’s Closed Controlled Facility (CCF). An investigation is being conducted by the Port Authority of Leros.
