An Anniversary Evening of Memories and Tradition
Half a century of creativity, cultural contribution and an enduring presence in the local community will come to life during the anniversary celebration of the Kalymnos Branch of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women.
Entitled “From Its Founding to the Present Day,” the event will take place on Wednesday, July 22, at 8:30 p.m., at the “Aikaterini Klonari” Open-Air Theatre in Chora.
The special tribute will take the audience on a journey through the branch’s 50-year history, featuring photographs and memorable moments from five decades of creativity and service. Presented as an evening of memories unfolding on screen, it will highlight the people, activities and milestones that shaped its remarkable course.
Traditional dances, music and publications dedicated to recording and preserving local traditions will hold a central place in the programme, reflecting the wide-ranging work of the Kalymnos branch and its lasting contribution to safeguarding the island’s cultural heritage.
Fifty years after its establishment, the Kalymnos Branch continues its mission with deep respect for tradition and love for the island, passing its customs, dances and collective memory on to younger generations.
The anniversary event is co-organized with the Kalymnos District Office of the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Kalymnos.
