The application process for the recruitment of 57 doctors in hospitals across the Dodecanese islands will begin on May 25, 2026, following an announcement by the Greek Ministry of Health.
Applications will be accepted from May 25 at 12:00 noon until June 15, 2026.
The positions will be distributed among five hospitals in the Dodecanese region as follows:
- Rhodes Hospital: 23 positions
- Kos Hospital: 7 positions
- Leros State Therapeutic Center: 13 positions
- Kalymnos Hospital: 7 positions
- Karpathos Hospital: 7 positions
Dodecanese MP for New Democracy, Manos Konsolas, described the announcement as a positive development, while stressing that further measures are still needed to strengthen healthcare services on the islands.
According to his statement, the success of the recruitment process will depend on whether the positions are fully covered, adding that incentives for doctors serving in island regions may need to be reviewed and enhanced.
