KALYMNOS | ANNOUNCEMENT – APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

Shocking incidents have occurred on the island of Kalymnos, where multiple cats were found poisoned and killed in the areas of Platis Gialos and Theologos. Investigations are ongoing to locate more possible victims and identify the perpetrator(s).
The killing of companion animals is a felony offense in Greece, punishable by imprisonment under Law 4830/2021 (Articles 24 and 34). The animal welfare federation “Nemesis” strongly condemns these heinous crimes and intends to file an official complaint with the Animal Protection Prosecutor.

Feeding and giving water to animals is completely legal and required by law, while concealing a felony is considered complicity and is prosecuted ex officio.
