An important conference focusing on Fishing Tourism is scheduled to take place in Kalymnos towards the end of November, according to our sources. The event is co-organized by the Development Agency of the Dodecanese (AN.DΩ.), the Regional Unit of Kalymnos, the Chamber of Dodecanese, and the Kalymnos Fishermen’s Association “Panagia Ypapanti.”
The conference will be held at the Dodecanese Chamber’s conference hall and will feature presentations by key speakers and an open discussion.
This initiative is considered highly significant, as fishing tourism could provide a valuable opportunity for professional fishermen, who already possess the necessary equipment and expertise at sea. The event will cover topics such as licensing procedures, available funding tools, and analysis of best and worst practices, among others.
The primary aim of the conference is to inform and engage especially younger audiences about the prospects offered by fishing tourism as an alternative development model for the islands.
