A regular public hybrid session of the Municipal Council was held in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall, both in person and via teleconference, on Friday, January 23, 2026, commencing at 18:00, to deliberate and decide on the attached agenda items.
Tensions arose during the session, with Yiannis Galouzis strongly objecting to the procedure followed for the extraordinary meeting of January 21 regarding Ioannis Halikos. The head of the faction stated that there had been insufficient briefing on the incident that formed the subject of the extraordinary session and claimed that no formal report had been circulated to Council members. His intervention led to verbal exchanges in the chamber, after which his faction withdrew from the meeting.
Subsequently, Dimitris Diakomichalis requested the floor on a personal matter, stating that he wished to clarify why the issue of referring him to a disciplinary body was being raised. However, he was not permitted to speak and also withdrew from the session.
The meeting continued with the remaining members of the Municipal Council.
