Extroversion & Cooperation: Not a Choice but a One-Way Path to Kalymnos’ Development
Agreement Signed Between the Municipality of Kalymnos and the Local Development Organization “DIMOPRAKTOS S.A.”
The Municipality of Kalymnos continues to pursue, with consistency and determination, its strategic vision for an island that collaborates, networks, and grows.
In this context, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, Mayor of Kalymnos Mr. Yiannis Mastrokoukos and the CEO of DIMOPRAKTOS S.A., Mr. Nektarios Spiliopoulos, signed an Agreement for the implementation of the project:
“Update of the Recognition File for the Natural Resource
‘Water from the Thermes Well of Kalymnos’ and Development of Thermal Tourism on the Island”
This partnership is a tangible sign that the current Municipal Authority:
- Invests in expertise
- Capitalizes on the island’s unique natural advantages
- Aims to become a key player in alternative tourism sectors
The preparation of the agreement was the result of a collaborative effort between the Municipality of Kalymnos and the technical team of DIMOPRAKTOS S.A.
Statement by the Mayor of Kalymnos, Mr. Yiannis Mastrokoukos:
“This Municipal Authority works collectively and with a clear plan.
Extroversion is not a luxury — it is the only way forward for Kalymnos. Through alliances, expertise, and responsible action, we are leveraging the natural wealth of our island. Our goal is to develop thermal tourism, strengthen the local economy, and establish Kalymnos as a destination of well-being, health, and quality.”
The goal: Official Recognition of Kalymnos’ Natural Thermal Resource by the Ministry of Tourism
Such recognition would:
- Open the door to new investments
- Extend the tourist season
- Create new jobs
- Equip the island with a modern, dynamic development tool
