The President of the Medical Association of the Kalymnos Region, Gerasimos Apostolatos, spoke with Eleftheria Tiliakou for the show PARENTHESIS, at his medical office.
Mr. Apostolatos discussed the Association’s recent activities, including donations of portable defibrillators and his participation in a fertility and low birth rate conference held in Tinos.
He emphasized the importance of the Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) test. AMH is produced by the granulosa cells in a woman’s ovaries and provides information about ovarian reserve—that is, the estimated number of eggs remaining in the ovaries. AMH is a useful tool for understanding a woman’s egg supply.
