On Saturday, August 16, at the Amphitheater of the 1st Gymnasium of Kalymnos, the film Marseille – Distant Daughter by Markos Gastin will be screened at 8:30 p.m. with free admission.
The documentary, winner of the First Prize for Documentary at the 2004 State Quality Awards and the Best Greek Documentary Award at the 2004 Ecofilms Festival in Rhodes, tells the personal stories of Greeks who migrated to Marseille in the early 20th century to work in local factories and never returned.
The event is dedicated to the Greek diaspora, especially those living in France, and will feature an online participation by the director. It is co-organized by the Environmental Education Association YLANA and the Nikiforeio 1st Gymnasium of Kalymnos.
