The second phase of the free distribution of 1,250 compost bins (mechanical and garden types) will continue on Saturday, April 18, 2026, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, for beneficiaries who have completed the relevant application through the online platform.
The Municipal Authority of Kalymnos announces that beneficiaries will be able to collect their compost bins from 09:00 to 17:00 at the fountain area opposite the Town Hall.
Citizens who have already submitted their application via the South Aegean Solid Waste Management Authority (FoDSA) platform (https://wastefreeaegean.gr/biowaste/) will receive their compost bins upon presentation of their ID card. Applications can also be submitted on-site during the distribution, subject to availability.
Specialized staff will be present at the distribution point to assist citizens throughout the collection process and to provide clear and practical guidance on how to use the compost bins.
The Municipal Authority, remaining consistent with its commitment to a “Green Kalymnos,” is taking another significant step toward sustainable development and modern waste management by participating in the largest household composting program implemented by the South Aegean FoDSA, of which the Mayor of Kalymnos is a member of the Board of Directors.
