Giorgos Ηatzimarkos, attending the European People’s Party congress in Valencia, praised Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his decisive role in shaping European policies in recent years. He emphasized the importance of a United Europe as a support for Greece during crises, stressing that nothing should be taken for granted and that every policy requires hard work and people with a plan. He criticized populism, saying it has cost Greece more due to a tendency towards conflict and simplistic solutions.
Regarding Manfred Weber’s re-election as President of the EPP, he noted that Weber is a politician who maintains the party’s high standing among Europeans, consistently serving the vision of a united Europe.
