The Dodecanese MP remembers his contribution to fishing and their longstanding cooperation on the needs of island fishermen.
Giannis Pappas, New Democracy MP for the Dodecanese, has expressed his deep sadness following the death of Giorgos Katsotourchis, paying tribute to his many years of service to Kalymnos and its fishing community.
In his condolence message, Pappas highlights Katsotourchis’s contribution as president of the island’s fishermen, alongside his involvement in the cooperative movement and local public affairs.
The MP also recalls their longstanding cooperation on fishing issues. Through their discussions and shared efforts, he says, he came to know a man devoted to his home island, willing to serve others and determined to secure solutions for his sector.
“Kalymnos loses a man who fought for his community and his fellow citizens,” Pappas states, extending his sincere condolences to Katsotourchis’s family and loved ones and wishing them strength during this difficult time.
He closes with a personal farewell: “Farewell, Giorgos. I will always remember you with appreciation and respect.”
