After the journey of KALLI to Kos, Leros, and Kalymnos, the author, Giannis Vassos, publicly expresses heartfelt gratitude to everyone who believed in him and supported his work, giving it voice and soul.
He highlights the emotional evening in Kalymnos, held under the auspices of the “Ai Mousai” Reading Society, thanking President Panagiotis Pizanias for his support. He also extends thanks to Radio Ekfrasi Kos and journalist Anna Sarigianni for co-organizing and moderating the event.
Special acknowledgments go to:
- Giorgos Kyritsis, former Mayor of Kos, for connecting KALLI to the island’s people and history.
- Educator Katerina Emmanouil for her insightful and sensitive perspective.
- Educator Konstantinos Stavlas for his thoughtful contribution.
- Maria Toulanta, President of “Filitas”, for her presence and input.
- The president of the “Artemis” Cultural Association for supporting the event and enriching it musically.
He expresses deep personal thanks to his friend and companion Katerina Gavalá, who embraced the work with both intellect and love.
Concluding with a traditional saying—”When Moses asked how to reach the top of the mountain, a voice told him: ‘The angels will help you’”—he reflects that it was his friends who helped KALLI find its path.
KALLI, through the voices and support of many, became a collective memory and celebration.
With respect, love, and emotion,
Giannis Vassos
