Dodecanese MP Manos Konsolas calls on the Ministers of Infrastructure & Transport and Citizen Protection to formally recognize the role of the Hellenic Police in airport and aviation security.
He highlights that police personnel perform key duties, including security checks, prevention of terrorism and hijacking, participation in airport security coordination, and support for investigation and rescue operations.
However, the Hellenic Police does not receive funding from EUROCONTROL fees, unlike other aviation authorities. He describes this as unequal treatment and requests that the Hellenic Police be included among the eligible beneficiaries.
