As every year, our Federation took part in this year’s commemorative events honoring the battle at Agia Triada of Kaloskopi (Koukouvista), Phocis, which took place on January 5, 1944. In that battle, 33 heroes were killed by the Germans, among them Michalis Emm. Koutlakis from Kasos.
Michalis Koutlakis’ family was represented by his niece, Ms. Sofia Mastorakou, and our Federation was represented by our president, Mr. Yiannis Fragoulis.
The events were co-organized on the feast day of the Holy Trinity by the Municipality of Delphi, the Community of Kaloskopi, and the Kaloskopi Association, whose hospitality was exemplary.
Regarding the life and sacrifice of Michalis Koutlakis, renowned journalist Sofia Papaioannou has written the highly acclaimed book “Hidden in the Aegean”, published by Patakis Editions in Athens in 2011.
