By chance, today at the Kalymnos Hospital, we came across the first official meeting between the Medical Association of the Kalymnos Region and the new Director of the Kalymnos Hospital, Mr. Panteleimon Kongas, in his office at the hospital. The main request of the Medical Association is the staffing of the hospital with new doctors, to fill positions that have not been announced for years.
The President of the Medical Association, Mr. Gerasimos Apostolatos, an obstetrician-gynecologist, was accompanied by the General Secretary, Michalis Mavros, a psychiatrist, and the Treasurer, Michail G. Monokandylos, a pulmonologist.
Mr. Kongas expressed his willingness to work hard, with the health of the people of Kalymnos as his guiding principle, and to draft a business plan for the hospital.
