Urgent Recruitment Ahead of Summer Season
KALYMNOS – The Municipality of Kalymnos has launched an urgent recruitment process for two lifeguards to ensure the safe operation of the Municipal Swimming Pool during the busy summer season. The announcement, issued by Deputy Mayor Ioannis Theofilidis, concerns fixed-term employment contracts lasting two months.
According to the notice, priority will be given to Physical Education graduates holding the required lifeguard certification. Should those positions remain vacant, applications will also be accepted from secondary education (DE) lifeguards who possess the necessary professional qualifications and certifications.
The recruitment follows a recommendation by municipal services and approval by the Municipal Committee, aiming to address the increased seasonal staffing needs of the swimming facility during its four-month operating period.
Applicants must be between 18 and 60 years of age, meet all eligibility requirements, and submit the required documentation within the specified deadline. Applications will be accepted until June 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Municipal officials emphasize that the recruitment is essential for maintaining high safety standards for swimmers and visitors, as attendance at the Municipal Swimming Pool is expected to increase significantly during the summer months.
