Sets Out Timeline of Traffic Study Contracts
The Municipal Port Fund of Kalymnos has categorically rejected claims that the same traffic study was awarded twice to the same consultant, issuing an official response to the Kalymnos Standing Committee of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
In a press release signed by Port Fund President Michail Platsis, the authority set out the administrative sequence of the relevant decisions, stressing that the original procurement process had been cancelled before a subsequent contract was initiated.
The response followed a letter dated August 7, 2026, from the local TEE committee, which referred to what it described as a double award of precisely the same traffic study to the same consultant.
According to the Port Fund, the approved request registered under procurement reference 25REQ017221991 was cancelled in Greece’s Central Electronic Registry of Public Contracts on December 30, 2025. The entry was marked “Cancellation/Revocation” and stated that the cancellation resulted from an incorrect procedure.
The invitation registered under reference 25PROC017229522 was also cancelled and marked “Cancellation/Termination of Procedure” for the same reason.
The Port Fund further stated that contract 446/06.08.2025, registered under reference 25SYMV017356648, was formally cancelled and terminated on December 30, 2025, again because the original procedure had been incorrect.
According to the authority, the later contract was initiated only after the previous procedure had been revoked and cancelled and the related contract had been terminated.
“Therefore, there are no two parallel contracts for the traffic study,” the Port Fund said.
It also argued that referring to two decisions without mentioning the cancellation of the first procedure and the termination of the initial contract does not present the full administrative sequence.
The authority noted that all relevant records are publicly registered in the Central Electronic Registry of Public Contracts and said the information was being released to provide a complete account and clarify the issue.
The statement represents the Port Fund’s official response to the concerns raised by the Kalymnos TEE committee and shifts the focus of the public debate to the precise timeline of the cancellations and contracts associated with the traffic study.
