Funding of €501,000 has been approved for the project “Enhancing Port Infrastructure Safety in Kalymnos,” submitted by the Kalymnos Municipal Port Authority. The project was included in the South Aegean Regional Program 2021–2027, thanks to a decision by Regional Governor Giorgos Hatzimarkos.
The project includes the supply and installation of advanced systems in line with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and relevant EU and Greek legislation. It aims to upgrade Kalymnos Port’s capability to handle international cruise and cross-border traffic securely and efficiently.
The project is set to begin on April 1, 2026, and be completed by December 31, 2027, marking a strategic investment in the island’s future as a competitive tourism and trade destination.
