Kalymnos Showcased at Major Tourism Event in Kos Under the Auspices of GNTO Germany
Kos, October 17, 2025 — A high-profile Tourism Forum was held on Friday, October 17th at the Grecotel LUXME Hotel in Kos, organized by FVW Travel Talk, Germany’s leading tourism media group. The event was held under the auspices of the German National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and brought together top German tour operators and journalists from some of the most prominent tourism media outlets in the country.
Representing the island of Kalymnos, the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Diaspora Affairs & Public Relations, Mrs. Kalliopi Koutouzi-Vogelzang, was among the invited speakers. She had the opportunity to present Kalymnos as an authentic, alternative, and sustainable destination, emphasizing the island’s unique advantages and tourism potential. Her presentation left a lasting impression and received enthusiastic feedback from the attendees.
This participation was the result of strategic follow-ups from Kalymnos’ successful presence at ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel trade show, and a product of close cooperation with Mrs. Nicoletta Lekanidi, Head of GNTO Germany.
German Travel Agents Discover Kalymnos First-Hand
On Saturday, October 18, a group of 26 German travel agents, accompanied by event organizer Ms. Ada Karagianni and Ms. Chara Prokaki of GNTO Germany, traveled to Kalymnos along with the Deputy Mayor for a familiarization tour.
During their visit, they explored the island’s world-renowned climbing sites and experienced its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and warm local hospitality.
