Tradition, Volunteers and National TV Coverage Take Center Stage
The Regional Governor of Kalymnos, Manolis Mouselis, together with his associates, officially presented the rich program of the 4th Sponge Divers Festival during a press conference held at the Regional Administration Building, launching the countdown to one of the island’s most important cultural events.
During the presentation, Mouselis highlighted the remarkable participation of volunteers, whose dedication plays a key role in the successful organization of the festival and reflects the strong community spirit of Kalymnos.
He also emphasized the communication sponsorship by Greece’s public broadcaster ERT, which will provide television coverage of the traditional Pokinima ceremony, bringing one of Kalymnos’ most iconic maritime traditions to audiences across the country.
The 4th Sponge Divers Festival is expected to once again celebrate the island’s rich sponge-diving heritage through a diverse program of cultural events, showcasing Kalymnos’ history, traditions and maritime identity to both residents and visitors
