Leros, June 25–27, 2026
Leros is set to welcome scholars, researchers, academics, writers, and cultural figures from Greece and abroad for the 24th Dodecanese Cultural Symposium, taking place from June 25 to June 27, 2026, at the Conference Center of Crithoni’s Paradise Hotel.
Organized by the Dodecanese Society of Letters and Arts, the symposium is one of the region’s most important cultural events, highlighting the history, folklore, archaeology, literature, and cultural heritage of the Dodecanese islands through a rich program of lectures and academic presentations.
Over the course of three days, participants will explore a wide range of topics related to Leros, Kalymnos, Kos, Rhodes, Patmos, Halki, Karpathos, and other Dodecanese islands, shedding light on lesser-known aspects of their history, traditions, and cultural identity.
Special attention will be given to presentations concerning the Battle of Leros, Dodecanesian diaspora communities, traditional customs, monuments, architecture, and the islands’ rich musical and dance heritage. Distinguished academics, historians, and cultural representatives will contribute to the symposium’s extensive program.
The symposium is expected to serve once again as a vibrant meeting point between academic research and living tradition, reinforcing Leros’ role as a center of historical memory, cultural dialogue, and intellectual exchange.
