Dodecanese MP of New Democracy, Manos Konsolas, has submitted a parliamentary intervention to the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, highlighting the need for immediate action to improve television signal coverage in Karpathos.
According to his statement, residents have recently been facing difficulties accessing TV broadcasts due to problems in digital coverage. He notes that the existing Digea network infrastructure, installed in the Aperi municipal community, is insufficient to effectively cover all areas of the island.
Konsolas also points out that before the introduction of the Digea digital platform, multiple broadcasting centers operated across Karpathos—including in Olympos, Spoa, Mesochori, Arkasa, the Airport, and Aperi—ensuring full signal coverage.
In this context, the MP calls for the reinforcement of the network with additional equipment and the implementation of immediate technical interventions to restore reliable and high-quality TV signal reception.
“Uninterrupted access to television services for island residents is a matter of high priority. For remote and border regions in particular, it also carries national significance,” Konsolas emphasized.
