A package of measures aimed at addressing the increased cost of fuel in island regions was announced by the Prime Minister, with Dodecanese MP Manos Konsolas highlighting the importance of reinstating the fuel pass for island residents.
The measure αφορά the return of the fuel pass (digital fuel subsidy card), which will target specific groups of citizens based on income criteria, covering part of the increased fuel costs.
In practical terms, the subsidy for island areas is estimated to reach approximately €60, based on an average monthly consumption of 70 liters of fuel.
At the same time, a further intervention is planned to stabilize ferry ticket prices, through subsidies covering fuel costs, on the condition that prices remain at last year’s levels.
Mr. Konsolas emphasized that, under the current energy crisis, the priority is to exhaust all available means to support citizens, as the scale of the crisis remains significant and uncertain.
