Support for students on small islands through the Kalymnos Regional Unit and the Stuttgart diaspora initiative
A significant initiative to support the educational community on small islands has been carried out through the collaboration between the Kalymnos Regional Unit and the Greek diaspora in Stuttgart.
According to an official press release, school supplies were secured and delivered following targeted efforts led by Deputy Regional Governor for Education, Ioannis Kritikou, covering the needs of schools on islands such as Telendos, Pserimos, Lipsi, and Agathonisi.
The initiative forms part of the educational campaign “The Flame of Christmas Love” and was designed from the outset with a comprehensive approach by the Regional Unit, aiming to provide equal support to students across all small and remote islands, where needs are particularly high.
The importance of coordination with the Municipality of Kalymnos and other stakeholders is also highlighted, ensuring that actions are fully documented and that the overall effort is not fragmented or incomplete.
Kalymnos Regional Governor Emmanouil Mouselis expressed his sincere gratitude to the diaspora for their contribution, emphasizing that the initiative was implemented with the entire island community in mind.
The Regional Unit stated it will continue to develop similar initiatives with a focus on cohesion, planning, and broad benefits for all islands in the region.
