Kalymnos Academy CBA Crowned Dodecanese Youth Champions – Call for Modern Sports Facilities
Major success in Rhodes and renewed demand for a new indoor basketball arena
A major achievement for Kalymnos sports comes with the victory of Kalymnos Academy CBA, which won the Dodecanese Youth Championship after defeating the strong Kolossos Rhodes team in the final held in Rhodes.
This success reflects the club’s consistent effort, dedication, and strong team spirit, further strengthening its presence in regional sports.
In a statement, South Aegean Regional Councillor Mikes Zirounis congratulated the athletes, coach Christos Kalaitzidis, the club’s management, and the parents, highlighting the importance of collective effort and youth support.
At the same time, he emphasized the urgent need for the construction of a new, modern indoor basketball facility in Kalymnos, as well as improved sports infrastructure across the islands, including Patmos, to ensure equal training conditions for all athletes.
“Our athletes deserve modern facilities,” he noted, adding that such achievements inspire optimism and pride within the local community.
