Mandatory berthing declaration and fees for vessels at ports under the Municipal Port Fund
The Municipal Port Fund of Kalymnos has informed vessel owners and operators that procedures for the registration of vessels and the collection of berthing fees at ports under its jurisdiction are being implemented.
According to the announcement, the measure is based on Joint Ministerial Decision 3113.11/48682/2021 (Government Gazette B΄ 3013/2021), which obliges port management authorities, including Municipal Port Funds, to collect berthing fees for every vessel moored within their port areas.
The fees are considered reciprocal charges and are intended to support the maintenance, improvement, and development of port infrastructure, as well as the services provided to port users.
As part of the implementation of the regulation, the Municipal Port Fund of Kalymnos will proceed with the recording and inspection of vessels currently moored in its ports, as well as the assessment and collection of the corresponding berthing fees based on the duration of their stay.
For this reason, vessel owners or captains who are mooring or intend to moor at ports under the authority of the Municipal Port Fund are requested to submit a berthing declaration, providing details of the vessel and the length of stay.
If a vessel is currently out of the water, its owner is required to submit a formal declaration to the Municipal Port Fund of Kalymnos, either in person at its offices or electronically.
The Municipal Port Fund states that it remains available to provide further information and clarification regarding the declaration procedure and the implementation of the current legislation.
