Member of Parliament for the Dodecanese and Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Regions, Manos Konsolas, has been appointed rapporteur for the new bill of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, introducing major tax cuts and income support measures with a total fiscal impact of €1.76 billion.
The debate begins in the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs and will be voted on in the Plenary Session on Thursday.
The bill includes key provisions such as:
1️ Lower income tax rates for individuals — employees, pensioners, and self-employed professionals.
2️ Significant tax relief for families with children, with zero tax for families with four children.
3️ Full tax exemption for young people up to 25 years old and a 9% rate for those up to 30 years old.
4️ 50% reduction and full exemption from ENFIA (property tax) for primary residences in small settlements under 1,500 inhabitants.
5️ Reduced rental income tax, with a new intermediate rate of 25% for income between €12,000 and €24,000.
6️ 30–35% reduction in living standards criteria (imputed income) for housing and vehicles.
7️ Abolition of the subscription television fee.
Additionally, the bill provides for salary increases for members of the Hellenic Police, Fire Service, and Coast Guard, effective October 1, 2025.
The tax reductions will take effect from 2026, and as Manos Konsolas stated, “The benefits will be immediate and tangible for approximately four million taxpayers, who will see higher net income from salaries, pensions, and tax returns.”
