Member of Parliament for the Dodecanese and Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Regions, Manos Konsolas, submitted two new proposals to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on Patmos and other islands with seasonal economies.
He noted that under the new Just Development Transition Fund, loans from the Hellenic Development Bank will be available to islands with populations up to 3,100 residents — effectively excluding Patmos, which has 3,217 residents. Konsolas also proposes raising the population limit to **3,500 residents per island.
