MP Manos Konsolas Pushes for Immediate Staffing of Kindergarten in Astypalaia
With a formal parliamentary intervention addressed to the Minister of Education, Dodecanese MP Manos Konsolas is calling for the urgent appointment of a second kindergarten teacher at the two-teacher Kindergarten of Astypalaia, so the All-Day Program can resume.
Mr. Konsolas points out that the position has remained vacant since the beginning of the school year, making it impossible for the all-day schedule to operate and affecting the school’s educational planning and functionality.
He stresses that ensuring the smooth operation of educational structures on small islands has broader significance — linked not only to education but also to demographic resilience and the viability of island life.
The MP calls on the Ministry to prioritize the staffing of the vacant position through the process of appointing substitute kindergarten teachers.
