From the 12th regular session of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Kalymnos on June 25, 2024, in which the major opposition led by Ioannis Galouzis and the faction of former Mayor Dimitris Diakomichalis were absent, the following decisions were made:
- Selection of the Citizen and Business Advocate for the Municipality of Kalymnos.
Kourou Sevasti with 17 votes.
2. Update for the Municipal Council regarding the annual report of the Independent Internal Audit Unit of the Municipality of Kalymnos for the financial year 2023.
The body was informed.
3. Amendment of the Internal Service Organization of the Municipality of Kalymnos to incorporate the abolished legal entity “PAIDIKOS VREFONIPIACOS STATHMOS MANA-IOANNA KARPATHIOU” (par. 2d article 27 law 5056/23) (Ministry of Interior circular 1271/oik.102775/28.11.2023).
Unanimously approved.
4. Approval of the 2nd budget revision for the public entity “Kalymnos Municipal Port Fund”.
The revision includes a. Internal audit expenses by an external partner. b. Purchase of tablets and software for port fee collection. c. Electronic invoicing. d. Revision of the five-year waste management plan.
The Mavros faction declared present, and the Majority approved it.
5. Examination of the request for free allocation of municipal property to resolve the 1st Special Kindergarten of Kalymnos building issue.
It will be relocated to the old Municipal Nursery building.
Unanimously approved.
6. Examination of the request to purchase property owned by Dimitrios & Ioannis Nomikarios in the “Giannochorafa” area of Kalymnos.
The issue will be revisited with a written recommendation at the next session.
7. Appointment of representatives of the Municipality of Kalymnos at the Extraordinary General Assembly of Shareholders of AN.D.O. S.A.
Regular member: the Mayor; alternate: Georgios Mavros.
Unanimously approved.
8. Participation of the Municipality of Kalymnos in the new Network DAFNI under the name “SUSTAINABLE ISLANDS NETWORK S.A. – LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (AOTA)”.
Unanimously approved.
9. Free allocation of municipal property on the island of Pserimos for installing a prefabricated hut for the operation of the Pserimos Port Station.
The Majority approved, Mavros faction opposed.
10. Appointment of members to the Committee for Suitability and Selection of a site for the Physics Laboratory of the 2nd General Lyceum of Kalymnos.
Committee members: Ioannis Theofilidis and Chrysovalantou Kanavouris.
Unanimously approved.
11. Formation of the Municipal Gender Equality Committee of the Municipality of Kalymnos.
President: Georgios Choulis.
Members: Georgios Mavros, Maria Loukatari (regular), Eirini Kampouri (regular), Eirini Kardoulia (alternate), Sofia Lagoudi (regular), Eirini Chalkiti (alternate), Sevasti Stala (regular), Maria Michailou (alternate), Kalotina Kassiani Saraki (regular), Themelina Mytika (alternate), Eleni Kypriaiou (regular), Eleftheria Chouli (alternate).
Unanimously approved.
12. Decision to place a bust of Georgios Koukoulis in the courtyard of the 2nd General Lyceum of Kalymnos.
Unanimously approved.
At the end of the session, DEYAK President Michalis Lelekis took the floor to report to the Municipal Council a suspicious action by Nikitas Giannikouris, a former member of the DEYAK Board, who was signing documents without the current President’s knowledge.
