Following a request from the Medical Association of the Kalymnos District, the Municipal Council of Kalymnos unanimously approved, on February 17th, 2026, the coverage of accommodation expenses, 600 euros, for appointed auxiliary doctors serving on the island for the year 2026.
The decision aims to strengthen staffing at Kalymnos Hospital and applies to specialized physicians of all medical specialties who choose to work at the island’s healthcare facility.
The measure is implemented in accordance with Article 21(2c) of Law 3580/2007, as amended by Article 34(1) of Law 4325/2015 and Article 43(5) of Law 4368/2016.
This initiative seeks to attract medical professionals, improve healthcare services, and enhance health security for both residents and visitors of Kalymnos.
