PASOK reaffirms its support for the primary sector, with party leader Nikos Androulakis highlighting the agricultural issue even during the parliamentary debate on the state budget. He underlined the sharp rise in production costs—fertilizers, animal feed and veterinary services—and questioned whether farmers can survive under current conditions or are being pushed toward protests.
At the same time, PASOK is launching nationwide visits as part of its pre-conference dialogue, aiming to inform local party members and farmers about its policy proposals. Androulakis’ plan includes price caps on agricultural inputs, an agricultural fuel card, affordable electricity tariffs for farmers, support for energy communities, and protection of agricultural land from auctions.
According to PASOK’s president, this is a comprehensive plan that can restore dignity, hope and prospects for farmers and allow them to live and work with security.
